BIG APPLES

So I'm finally making my way to the East Coast this Thursday to see what all the fuss is about.

Right now, I fully expect to get off the plane, and be cabbed to my hotel by a man of foreign decent with a completely incoherent accent. We'll fly down gray, filty streets and bounce over manholes with steam coming out (and I'm fully aware that it will be in 60's this week). And I'll brace myself against the backseat while we dodge bike couriers and race past the film crews of ever "Law & Order" show.

I've never been to NYC before and I'm hoping years of movie and TV stereotypes are proved wrong. I'm going "for work" so I won't have much time to do the touristy things. However, I am excited just to get back to a real city, where there's a skyline and buildings towering about everything. Not 6 buildings spotting the horizon through the smog.

Now I just have to try and avoid having my usual pre-flight panic attacks and we'll be all good.

And the first person to suggest me going to the doctor for some happy-sleepy pills gets a cameraphoned image of me flipping them the bird in their inbox...however, places to eat/drink in relation to this location are more than welcome.
